Hey guys Is anybody successfully (or knows someone) using a HDMI grabber ? Instead of usb and AV converter combo... I've seen a bit of chit chat but nothing solid... Thoughts?
Hi, the only one that works with a Raspberry Pi: https://de.aliexpress.com/item/3282...chweb0_0,searchweb201602_1,searchweb201603_52 but it converts from HDMI 1080p to CVBS-Video 576i (PAL) or 480i (NTSC). If you owner of a Raspberry Pi 4, https://de.aliexpress.com/item/3291...chweb0_0,searchweb201602_1,searchweb201603_52 works with own driver. Not cheap and hard work.
if someone has an rpi4 with usb3 and enough money, could test this one (5Port) https://de.aliexpress.com/item/3299...chweb0_0,searchweb201602_7,searchweb201603_52
Maybe this one https://de.aliexpress.com/item/32913463789.html could work with RPi3, but not known chipset and the output is MJPEG respectively H.264 at max. 1080p 60fps. http://www.link-card.com.cn/en/products.asp?id=9 Known working grabbers UTV007 and STK1160 gives output at MPEG. Maybe @TPmodding knows more.
You can test all of these, the community will be grateful! Joking aside... No one will be able to tell you if it works or not. As I said, this one https://de.aliexpress.com/item/3291...chweb0_0,searchweb201602_1,searchweb201603_52 works, but you have to write and compile your own driver for the RPi4.
Hey guys So I just received my HDMI grabber https://www.berrybase.de/en/raspberry-pi-co/raspberry-pi/usb-devices/hdmi-composite-usb-2.0-grabber Someone previously stated it worked well just some heat issues that I already have a solution for. Only problem is I only get a black screen on Hyperion and no response from LEDS Any thoughts ?
I have (had) the same from China. Worked out-of-the-box on a Raspberry Pi 3A +. But after half a year, stopped working. I think it was the heat problem that you mentioned. I go back to the "EasyCap" grabber, less heat Problems. Maybe it's another chipset? Plug it into a Windows computer. The device manager should show an "OEM Capture" or "usbtv007". That's the right chipset. Or some error in the config.
When I use old grabber everything works With the new just black screen Will try on pc I've already created a down to size heat sink for it... (maybe should've tested first lol) I think it was one of the admins or top posters that had one
i have one yes, but to be honest, just made some little test to so if and how it works...didnt use it for a long time because my receiver outputs on cvbs too
So you have your receiver outputting max quality on HDMI output and CVBS simultaneously for the PI ? Does it output max 4k on one end and 1080 on the other ? And for HDR?
This is mine Pretty standard Will only upgrade in a year or 2 https://www.eu.onkyo.com/en/products/ht-s3800-131920.html Never tested it Although my issue has always been HDR I consume alot (already fixed!)
Some older AVR gives HDMI sources parallel out to HDMI and convert it to CVBS, except HDCP material. Have you try it?
