    hi guys,

I used for some months ambilight with my rpi3

When I open the pi the rainbow swirl is nice. When I want to watch a movie it is getting flickering.

So when I change to ps4 pro, by normal colors there is no problem and by difficult colors it is also flickering.

Could this be an power problem?

    Hi,
I also had problems with flickering LEDs (APA102). It seems APA102 are very sensitive to under-, respectively overvoltage. Then I tried a few different power supplies.
Conclusion: The output voltage of the cheaper power supplies usually fluctuated between 4.9 to 5.3 volts. Now I have installed one of the cheapest PS with adjustable output voltage:

The actually solution of the problem was the additional installation one of these level shifter:

    Hope it helps!

What do you need a picture for???
Give all components a common ground - done.
If installing a level shifter seems too difficult, you have to live with flickering.
